Abstract
Novel 2-(N,N-dialkylamino)-3,5-dinitrothiophenes have bactericidal, fungicidal and herbicidal activity.

A method for controlling the growth of undesirable vegetation which comprises applying to the vegetation or the growth medium thereof an herbicidally effective amount of the compound of the formula ##STR3## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 individaully are methyl or ethyl.
