Abstract
New [1,1,2-tris-(o/p-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenyl-ethanes] and their preparation by reacting acetophenone derivatives with phenol at temperatures between -20.degree. and 200.degree. C.

Trisphenols [ 1,1,2-tris-(o/p-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenylethanes] of the general formula (I):
- ##STR5## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, denote hydrogen, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl group, a cyclohexyl group or an optionally substituted C.sub.6 -C.sub.15 aryl group, a halogen or a nitro group, and
- n represents an integer from 1 to 5.
