Abstract
A new antibiotic, Fortimicin C, is produced by fermentation of a microorganism belonging to the genus Micromonospora. The antibiotic is accumulated in the culture medium and is isolated therefrom.
Claims4
A process for producing Fortimicin C which comprises culturing a Fortimicin C producing microorganism belonging to the genus Micromonospora in a nutrient medium until substantial antibacterial activity is detected in the culture liquor and thereafter isolating Fortimicin C therefrom.
