Abstract
Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, alkyl, a metal ion, ammonium or alkylammonium, are useful for sterilizing male anthers in plants.
Claims4
A method of sterilizing male anthers in plants which comprises treating the plants with an amount effective to sterilize said anthers of a heterocyclic compound having the following general formula:
- ##STR3## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium, alkylammonium the alkyl groups or groups of which preferably each contain up to 6 carbon atoms, or an alkyl group of up to 4 carbon atoms.
