A disposable pattern material for investment casting processes incorporating 4,4'-isopropylidene diphenol and a thermoplastic material.

In a thermoplastic pattern forming composition comprising a thermoplastic pattern material, the improvement comprising a thermoplastic pattern forming composition having two phases containing, in admixture, said pattern material and finely divided 4,4'-isopropylidene diphenol not exceeding 100 mesh in an amount of from about 20% to about 70% by weight of the pattern forming composition.
