Abstract
Certain novel carbamates of the formulas: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is alkyl of 1-3 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms; and X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are independently selected from oxygen and sulfur; Are useful intermediates to react with aromatic and aliphatic amines to yield herbicidal allophanimidates.

A compound in solution in an inert organic solvent, which compound has the formula:
- ##STR17## wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl of 1-3 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms;
- and
- X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are independently selected from oxygen and sulfur.
