Abstract
Compounds having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are lower alkyl, R.sup.3 is alkyl, another hindered phenolic norbornane-2,3-dicarboximide group, or a group --(CH.sub.2)--CO.sub.2 R.sup.4 and m is 0 to 3, n is 1 or 2 and R.sup.4 is alkyl, are good oxidative and thermal stabilizers of synthetic polymers.
Claims6
A composition of matter comprising an organic material normally subject to oxidative, thermal and/or ultraviolet light degradation and (a) from 0.01 to 5% of a stabilizer having the formula ##STR8## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different (lower) alkyl groups of 1 to 4 carbon atoms,
- m has a value of 0 to 3,
- n has a value of 1 and 2, and
- R.sup.3 is alkyl group of 1 to 18 carbons, a group of the formulae ##STR9## where x has a value of 2 to 18,
- R.sup.4 is alkyl of 1 to 18 carbons, and p has a value of 1 or 2,
- b. from 0 to 5% of a UV absorber, and
- c. from 0 to 5% of a co-stabilizer.
