Abstract
A cable employing device for securing frames to poles and posts; a cable dispensing and recovering casing secureable to a frame which includes releaseable engaging means for one cable end; an improved tensioning system for a cable dispensing casing which ordinarily retains the cable in the casing and returns the cable to the casing after use; a cable retention and return device for use in a cable dispensing container which employs a length of surgical tubing to power the cable retention and return; hinged enclosures for simultaneous enclosure of a cable dispensing system and engagement of a frame support.
Claims8
Securing means for frame objects comprising, in combination,
- an elongate, hollow casing constructed of force-resistant material,
- a block fixed in one end of said casing and having a passage therethrough communicating with the casing interior,
- an elongate, cable fixed at one end to the casing interior wall adjacent the block, said cable of a length nearly twice the interior length of the casing and extending outside of said casing through said passage,
- an elongate plug on the free end of said cable exterior of said casing,
- a socket in said block adapted to removably receive a portion of said plug,
- engaging means in said block operable to releasably engage said plug portion when it is in said socket,
- and means inside said casing operative to return said cable into said casing after use and normally resiliently retain same therewithin,
- the cable return and retaining means comprising:
- a piece of surgical tubing connected at one end thereof to the inside of said casing adjacent said block,
- said tubing, before extension thereof, being of a length greater than the inside length of the casing,
- a shaft across the casing at the end thereof opposite the block,
- a pulley frame including a pulley engaging said cable inside of the casing,
- said tubing extending the length of the casing from its attachment, passing around said shaft and connecting with its free end to the pulley frame,
- whereby drawing the cable out of the casing moves the pulley frame toward the block and places the length of surgical tubing in tension around said shaft, so that continuous tension is exerted on the cable until it is returned into said casing.
Securing means for frame objects comprising, in combination,
- an elongate, hollow casing constructed of force-resistant material,
- said casing made up of two elongate half tube sections,
- a first block fixed in one end of one of said half tube sections operative to seal one end of the casing when the two half tube sections are connected together and having a passage therethrough communicating with the casing interior,
- an elongate cable fixed at one end to said first tube section interior wall adjacent the first block, said cable of a length nearly twice the interior length of the casing and extending outside of said casing through said passage,
- an elongate plug on the free end of said cable exterior of said casing,
- a socket in said first block adapted to removably receive a portion of said plug,
- engaging means in said first block operable to releaseably engage said plug portion when it is in said socket,
- means inside said casing operative to return said cable into said casing after use and normally resiliently retain same therewithin,
- and a second block fixed to the other end of said first tube section and operative to close and seal the other end of said casing when said tube half-sections are connected together,
- the cable return and retaining means comprising:
- a piece of surgical tubing connected at one end thereof to the inside of said casing adjacent said first block,
- said tubing, before extension thereof, being of a greater length than the inside length of the casing,
- a shaft across the casing at the end thereof opposite the first block,
- a pulley frame including a pulley engaging said cable inside of the casing,
- said tubing extending the length of the casing from its attachment, passing around said shaft and connecting with its free end to the pulley frame,
- whereby drawing the cable out of the casing moves the pulley frame toward the first block and places the length of surgical tubing in tension around said shaft so that continuous tension is exerted on the cable until it is returned into said casing.
Dispensing means for a length of cable, comprising, in combination,
- an elongate, hollow casing constructed of force-resistant material,
- a block fixed in one end of said casing and having a passage therethrough communicating with the casing interior,
- an elongate, cable fixed at one end to the casing interior wall adjacent the block, said cable of a length nearly twice the interior length of the casing and extending outside of said casing through said passage,
- an end piece on the free end of said cable of the casing outside of said block, said end piece operative to prevent the cable being entirely drawn into said casing,
- and means inside said casing operative to return said cable into said casing after use and normally resiliently retain same there within,
- the cable return and retaining means comprising:
- a piece of surgical tubing connected at one end thereof to the inside of said casing adjacent said block,
- said tubing, before extension thereof, being of a greater length than the inside length of the casing,
- a shaft across the casing at the end thereof opposite the block,
- a pulley frame including a pulley engaging the cable inside of the casing,
- said tubing extending the length of the casing from its attachment, passing around said shaft and connecting with its free end to the pulley frame,
- whereby drawing the cable out of the casing moves the pulley frame toward the block and places the length of surgical tubing in tension around said shaft so that continuous tension is exerted on the cable until it is returned into said casing.
Securing means for frame objects comprising, in combination,
- an elongate, hollow casing constructed of force-resistant material,
- said casing made up of two elongate first half tube sections,
- a first block fixed in one end of one of said first half tube sections operative to seal one end of the casing when the two first half tube sections are connected together and having a passage therethrough communicating with the casing interior,
- an elongate cable fixed at one end to said first half tube section interior wall adjacent the first block, said cable of a length nearly twice the interior length of the casing and extending outside of said casing through said passage,
- an elongate plug on the free end of said cable exterior of said casing,
- a socket in said first block adapted to removably receive a portion of said plug,
- engaging means in said first block operable to releasably engage said plug portion when it is in said socket,
- means inside said casing operative to return said cable into said casing after use and normally resiliently retain same therewithin,
- and a second block fixed to the other end of said first half tube section and operative to close and seal the other end of said casing when said first tube half-sections are connected together,
- each of said first half tube sections making up said casing being fixed along one edge thereof to a like, second half tube section in parallel relationship,
- each like second half tube section being at least a portion of the length of the tube sections making up the casing,
- said like second half tube sections hinged together along the edges thereof away from the first half tube sections making up the casing,
- and releaseable securing means for connecting together in edge to edge relationship the halves of the said first and second tube sections, whereby the said tube sections form one closed ended elongate casing containing the cable and one open ended casing next thereto adapted to removably engage a frame member,
- the cable return and retaining means comprising:
- a piece of surgical tubing connected at one end thereof to the inside of said casing adjacent said first block,
- said tubing, before extension thereof, being of a greater length than the inside length of the casing,
- a shaft across the casing at the end thereof opposite the first block,
- a pulley frame including a pulley engaging said cable inside of the casing,
- said tubing extending the length of the casing from its attachment, passing around said shaft and connecting with its free end to the pulley frame,
- whereby drawing the cable out of the casing moves the pulley frame toward the first block and places the length of surgical tubing in tension around said shaft, so that continuous tension is exerted on the cable until it is returned into said casing.
