Abstract
Inulin poly(H-sulfate) and salts thereof useful as complement inhibitors.
Claims6
A method of inhibiting the complement system in a body fluid which comprises subjecting said body fluid to the action of an effective complement inhibiting amount of a compound selected from those of the formula:
- ##STR2## wherein R is selected from the group comprising --SO.sub.3 A and --SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar. HR'.sup..sym., wherein A is hydrogen, alkaline earth or alkali metal;
- R' is triloweralkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6) amine;
- and n is 20 through 35.
A method of inhibiting the complement system in a warm-blooded animal which comprises administering to said animal an effective complement inhibiting amount of a compound selected from those of the formula:
- ##STR3## wherein R is selected from the group comprising --SO.sub.3 A and --SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar. HR'.sup..sym., wherein A is hydrogen, alkaline earth or alkali metal;
- R' is triloweralkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6) amine;
- and n is 20 through 35.
