Abstract
Disclosed are novel compounds of the formula ##STR1## WHEREIN EACH X is independently selected from chlorine or bromine, R is alkylene having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, each R' is independently selected from an alkyl or haloalkyl group having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, and n is 1 to 3. The above compounds are effective flame retardants in flammable polymeric compositions.

A flame retardant compound of the formula ##STR5## wherein each X is independently selected from chlorine or bromine, R is an alkylene group containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, each R' is independently selected from an alkyl or haloalkyl group containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, and wherein the haloalkyl group contains from 1 to 3 halogen atoms independently selected from the group comprising chlorine and bromine, and wherein n is 1 to 3.
