Abstract
Aqueous emulsions comprising organic isocyanates, water and non-ionic surface active agents devoid of hydroxy, amino and carboxylic acid groups and the use of such emulsions for surface coatings. Use of aqueous emulsions of mixed methylene bridged polyphenyl polyisocyanates as bonding agents for the reconstitution of foam scrap.
Claims7
An oil-in-water emulsion comprising,
- a. from 99 to 25 parts by weight of water;
- b. from 1 to 75 parts by weight of an aromatic polyisocyanate;
- and
- c. a stabilizing amount of a non-ionic surface active agent having the formula
- RO(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n CONHX
- wherein R is alkyl containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, n is an integer such that the surface active agent contains an average of from 5 to 120 oxyethylene groups and X is the residue of a di- or poly- isocyanate and contains at least one free isocyanate group.
