Abstract
A floating device available for use with various types of information disc apparatus, which is constructed with a floating surface providing a basis for floatation, a support member held at a predetermined distance from the floating surface, a floating body having a buoyancy with respect to the floating surface, and a movable member held by the support member at a distance variable with respect to the floating surface, the movable member resiliently holding the floating body. The device further includes a detector for detecting the position of the floating body relative to the movable member, and a device for moving the movable member to control the distance of the movable member with respect to the floating surface in accordance with the detection signal from the detector.
