Abstract
The invention provides vincaminic acid esters of formula ##SPC1## Wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or hydroxy, R.sub.2 is hydrogen or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 form an additional bond between the two carbon atoms to which they are attached, and R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are hydrogen or methyl, and their salts. The esters are useful in treatment of cardiac-circulatory, cerebal-vascular or respiratory insufficiency.

A compound which has the general formula (I) ##SPC3##
- wherein
- R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy group,
- R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom or
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together form an additional bond between the two carbon atoms to which they are attached, and each of R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 which may be the same or different is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with an inorganic or organic acid.
