Abstract
4-Phenyl-9,9a-dihydro-5,6-benzoisoindolines, e.g. those of the formula ##SPC1## R = h, alkyl, alkenyl or (hydroxy or amino)-alkyl, R" = h, alkyl, OH, alkanoyloxy, alkoxy, 1/2 alkylenedioxy, benzyloxy, halogeno, CF.sub.3, NO.sub.2 or amino m,n = 1 to 4 Or salts thereof are also antiallergic agents.
Claims2
A pharmaceutical composition comprising an antiasthmatically effective amount of a compound of the formula ##SPC7##
- in which R is methyl or ethyl, each of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is hydrogen or methyl, each of R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 is hydrogen or methoxy, or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, as well as R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, when taken together, are methylenedioxy, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.7 are hydrogen, whereby at least one of R.sub.1 to R.sub.7 being different from hydrogen, and both of X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are two hydrogen atoms, or a therapeutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, together with a pharmaceutical excipient.
