Abstract
This invention relates to a powdery coating composition having excellent anti-caking ability, which comprises polymer particles having an average particle size of 0.5 to 200.mu. composed of a polymer having a softening point not exceeding 90.degree.C. as a core component and a polymer having a softening point of at least 100.degree.C. as an outer component covering said core component, and to a process for the preparation of such powdery coating composition.
Claims7
A powdery coating composition comprising polymer particles having an average particle size within the range of 0.5 to 200.mu. and composed of, as a core component, an acrylic copolymer having a softening point not exceeding 90.degree.C. and containing 5 to 60% by weight of units of a monomer whose homopolymer has a Tg lower than 0.degree.C. and, as an outer component, an acrylic polymer having a softening point of at least 100.degree.C. and containing at least 60% by weight of units of a monomer whose homopolymer has a Tg higher than 50.degree.C., wherein the weight ratio of the core component to the outer component is within a range from 50/50 to 100/1, and said outer component covers said core component.
