Abstract
The composition is constituted by a mixture of Lewis acid corresponding to the formula MXm where: M is an atom of a metal belonging to Groups IV, V and VI of the Periodic Table of Elements, X is a halogen, m is within the range of 3 to 6, And a sulphonic acid corresponding to the general formula RF(SO.sub.3 H)p where RF represents a perfluorinated alkyl or cycloalkyl hydrocarbon radical having a number of carbon atoms ranging from 2 to 8 and p is 1 or 2.
Claims6
A catalytic composition for the conversion of hydrocarbons under conditions suited to the desired conversion, wherein said composition is constituted by a mixture of Lewis acid corresponding to the formula M X m in which:
- M is an atom of a metal belonging to Groups IV, V and VI of the Periodic Table of Elements,
- X is a halogen
- m is within the range of 3 to 6
- and a sulphonic acid corresponding to the general formula RF(SO.sub.3 H).sub.p where RF represents a perfluorinated alkyl or cycloalkyl hydrocarbon radical having a number of carbon atoms ranging from 2 to 8 and p is 1 or 2.
