Abstract
5H-Aminoacetamido-10,11-dihydrodibenz[b,f]azepines and their physiologically tolerable acid addition salts are disclosed to be useful as central nervous system depressant agents with anticonvulsant and muscle relaxing activity and as antihypertensive agents. A process for their preparation and for the preparation of their novel precursors is also described.

A compound of the formula ##SPC3##
- wherein R is hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyalkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxyalkyl having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, phenylalkyl having 7 to 9 carbon atoms, acetoxyalkyl having 3 to 5 carbon atoms, phenyl, chlorophenyl, methoxyphenyl, or trifluoromethylphenyl;
- and the physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof.
