Abstract
Method of spinning threads consisting at least partially of synthetic fibers comprising stretch-breaking continuous filaments to obtain fibers having staple length distribution similar to that of natural fibers, crimping said fibers, and open-end spinning them into thread. The invention includes machinery for carrying out this process and its product.
Claims10
Method of spinning threads consisting at least partially of synthetic textile fibers which comprises the steps of stretch breaking continuous filaments of substantially circular section into fibers having a staple length distribution approximating that of natural cotton to obtain a strip of parallel fibers, crimping said strip, and open end spinning said crimped and stretch broken strip.
