Abstract
A series of 3-alkylamino-.alpha.-substituted aminomethyl-4-hydroxybenzyl alcohols are prepared. These compounds are .beta.-adrenergic stimulants, in particular as bronchodilators.

A compound of the formula ##SPC3##
- wherein
- R and R.sub.1 are each hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl;
- and
- R.sub.3 is isopropyl, t-butyl, cyclobutyl,
- 1-(p-hydroxybenzyl) ethyl, or 2-(p-hydroxybenzyl)-isopropyl
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable nontoxic salt thereof.
