Abstract
Certain substituted or unsubstituted p-alkanoyl toluenes, e.g., p-alkanoyl toluene, are useful as hypolipidemic agents.
Claims7
A method for treating lipidemia which comprises administering to a mammal in need of said treatment a hypolipidemic effective amount of a compound of the formula:

- where
- R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, halo having an atomic weight of about 19 to 36, or straight chain lower alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each independently represent alkyl having 1 to 2 carbon atoms.
