P,P'-DISUBSTITUTED .alpha.-TRICHLOROMETHYLBENZYLANILINES ARE A NEW CLASS OF COMPOUNDS WHICH SHOW VARYING DEGREES OF UTILITY AS SELECTIVE OR NONSELECTIVE BIODEGRADABLE INSECTICIDES AND/OR LARVICIDES.

The compounds having the formula ##SPC3##
- where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are selected from the group consisting of substituents Cl, CH.sub.3, CH.sub.3 O, C.sub.2 H.sub.5 O, N(CH.sub.3).sub.2, O.sub.2 N, C.sub.4 H.sub.9 O, and C.sub.6 H.sub.11.
