Abstract
A method for producing ethane, ethylene and dimethyl ether compounds, said method comprising the step of passing a mixture of CO and hydrogen over platinum supported on alumina at a temperature ranging from 100.degree.C. to 400.degree.C. and a pressure ranging from 1 to 100 atmospheres.
Claims1
A process for producing substantial amounts of dimethyl ether, said process comprising the step of passing CO and H.sub.2 over platinum supported on alumina, wherein the amount of platinum ranges from 0.3 to 2 wt. % based on total weight of the support including platinum at a temperature ranging from 200.degree. to 300.degree.C and a pressure ranging from 10.10 to 40 atmospheres and wherein the mol rato of hydrogen to CO ranges from 0.1 to 2.
