Abstract
The instant invention relates to a class of novel compounds having utility as surfactants in detergent compositions and also to detergent and other compositions employing said novel compounds.

A novel compound having the structure ##EQU4## wherein R is a straight or branched chain alkyl radical having from 10-20 carbon atoms and M is selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal, ammonium, alkyl substituted ammonium and alkylolammonium cations, said alkyl groups having from 1-6 carbon atoms.
