Abstract
Compounds of the formula: ##EQU1## wherein R' is selected from the group consisting of .sup.-OH, alkoxy and aryloxy; and R is selected from the group consisting of ##EQU2## wherein Z is .sup.-OH, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy and aryloxy, provided when R' is .sup.-OH, ##EQU3## are disclosed, having utility as metal ion sequestrants and flame retardant additives.

A compound of the formula ##EQU23## wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of .sup.+OH, alkoxy of 1-6 carbon atoms and aryloxy and R is selected from the group consisting of ##EQU24## wherein Z is .sup.+OH, alkyl from 1-6 carbon atoms aryl, alkoxy from 1-6 carbon atoms and aryloxy, provided that at least one R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkoxy of 1-6 carbon atoms or aryloxy.
A compound of the formula ##EQU43## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of ##EQU44## and Z is selected from the group consisting of .sup.-OH, alkyl from 1-6 carbon atoms aryl, alkoxy from 1-6 carbon atoms and aryloxy;
- and R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of .sup.-OH alkoxy of 1-6 carbon atoms and aryloxy.
