Abstract
Spiro[pyrrolo(1,2-a)quinoxalines] and their physiologically tolerable acid addition salts possessing anticonvulsant and central nervous system depressant properties, and a process for their preparation are described.

A compound of the formula:
- ##SPC5##
- in which R is alkyl or from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, alkoxy of from 1 to 2 carbon atoms or halogen;
- m, n and p are integers from 0 to 2, the sum of m and n being from 2 to 4;
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or methyl;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkanoyl of from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkylcarbonyl of from 4 to 6 carbon atoms or aralkyl of from 7 to 9 carbon atoms;
- and R.sub.4 is hydrogen or alkanoyl of from 2 to 3 carbon atoms;
- and the physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof.
