Abstract
New and valuable herbicide mixtures of 2-ethoxy-2,3-dihydro-3,3-dimethyl-5-benzofuranylmethane sulfonate and carbamates of the formula ##SPC1## Where X denotes hydrogen or lower alkyl.

A herbicide composition containing a herbicidally effective amount of a mixture consisting essentially of
- a. a compound of the formula ##SPC4##
- and
- b. a compound of the formula ##SPC5##
- where X denotes hydrogen or lower alkyl of a maximum of 3 carbon atoms in a weight ratio of a to b in the range of 9:1 to 1:9.

A process for controlling the growth of unwanted plants in a host soil which comprises applying to the plants after emergence of said plants from the host soil a herbicide composition containing a herbicidally effective amount of a mixture consisting essentially of
- a. a compound of the formula ##SPC6##
- and
- b. a compound of the formula ##SPC7##
- where X denotes hydrogen or lower alkyl of a maximum of 3 carbon atoms in a weight ratio of a to b in the range of 9:1 to 1:9.
