Micro-led display drive circuits

Abstract

A light-emitting diode (LED) display, with improved uniformity of illumination. In some embodiments, the display includes: an array 120 of GaN backplane 110, the array being hybrid bonded to the CMOS backplane, the array including a first LED 405, the CMOS backplane including: a first current source circuit; and a gate control circuit, the first current source circuit including: an n-channel field effect transistor 505; and a p-channel field effect transistor 510, the n-channel field effect transistor, the p-channel field effect transistor, and the first LED being connected in series, the source of the n-channel field effect transistor being connected to the source of the p-channel field effect transistor, the gate control circuit having a first output connected to the gate of the n-channel field effect transistor and a second output connected to the gate of the p-channel field effect transistor.
