A light-emitting device includes a substrate including terminal parts, a light-emitting element including electrode parts, and bonding parts that bond the substrate and the light-emitting element. The terminal parts include a central terminal part having a surface in which a first recessed portion is disposed, and peripheral terminal parts each having a surface in which a second recessed portion is disposed. The electrode parts include a central electrode part having a surface in which a third recessed portion is disposed, and peripheral electrode parts each having a surface in which a fourth recessed portion is disposed. A center-to-center distance between the second recessed portions of adjacent peripheral terminal parts differs from a center-to-center distance between the fourth recessed portions of corresponding adjacent ones of the peripheral electrode parts.
