Regulating in-series thermal dissipation for enhanced system management

A liquid cooled chassis, comprising:

• a plurality of heat generating components;
• and
• a liquid cooling loop to thermally manage the plurality of heat generating components, the liquid cooling loop being adapted to:
• obtain a cooling liquid from an external cooling system, the cooling liquid being cooled to a first temperature;
• cool a first heat generating component of the plurality of heat generating components using the cooling liquid to obtain a warmed cooling liquid;
• cool the warmed cooling liquid to obtain a re-cooled cooling liquid of a second temperature;
• and
• cool a second heat generating component of the plurality of heat generating components using the re-cooled cooling liquid.

A rack system, comprising:

• a rack;
• and
• a data processing system to be housed in the rack, the data processing system comprising:
• a plurality of heat generating components;
• and
• a liquid cooling loop to thermally manage the plurality of heat generating components, the liquid cooling loop being adapted to:
• obtain a cooling liquid from an external cooling system, the cooling liquid being cooled to a first temperature;
• cool a first heat generating component of the plurality of heat generating components using the cooling liquid to obtain a warmed cooling liquid;
• cool the warmed cooling liquid to obtain a re-cooled cooling liquid of a second temperature;
• and
• cool a second heat generating component of the plurality of heat generating components using the re-cooled cooling liquid.
