Abstract
A method and apparatus for wirelessly controlled and monitored vehicle lighting is provided. Multiple light fixtures each including one or more light elements and associated lenses may be mounted to a vehicle where the mounted location and light intensity produced by each of the light fixtures may be wirelessly monitored. Measured dynamics of the vehicle may be used to automatically select light intensity and distribution attributes for optimum illumination. Control of the vehicle lighting may be implemented via wired and/or wireless controls.
Claims20
A vehicle, comprising:
- at least one light fixture mounted to the vehicle, wherein each of the at least one light fixture includes,
- an LED array including at least one lens and at least one associated light element;
- a current control module coupled to the LED array and configured to illuminate the at least one light element at a specified intensity;
- and
- a microprocessor coupled to the current control module;
- at least one sensor coupled to the microprocessor and configured to measure dynamic attributes of the vehicle;
- and
- a remote control device wirelessly coupled to the microprocessor, the remote control device configured to display information indicative of the light fixture.
A method of provisioning a vehicle lighting system, comprising:
- mounting a plurality of light fixtures to a vehicle, wherein each light fixture includes at least one light element and associated optical characteristic;
- wirelessly monitoring a location of each mounted light fixture;
- selecting an intensity of light to be generated by each light element;
- and
- wirelessly monitoring the intensity of light generated by each light element.
