Abstract
A method of manufacturing a heating element for a cooking appliance includes electrically coupling a resistive coil to a tubular cold pin, the tubular cold pin defining an internal passageway, a vent inlet, and a vent outlet, positioning the resistive coil inside a tubular sheath, blocking the internal passageway or the vent inlet, and filling the tubular sheath with a dielectric insulator.
Claims20
A heating element for a cooking appliance, the heating element comprising:
- a tubular sheath;
- a resistive coil extending through the tubular sheath;
- and
- a tubular cold pin electrically coupled to the resistive coil, the tubular cold pin defining an internal passageway, a vent inlet to the internal passageway that is positioned within the tubular sheath, and a vent outlet to the internal passageway that is positioned outside the tubular sheath.
