A heating unit arranged along an external surface of a heated object, comprising:

• a heat generation body that generates heat while being supplied with power;
• a switching device that switches between an electrically conductive state and an electrically non-conductive state of the heat generation body, in accordance with a temperature of the heated object;
• and
• a thermal insulation member positioned between an inner skin member and an outer skin member, wherein
• the thermal insulation member has an accommodation part forming a space for accommodating the switching device therein.

A method for manufacturing a heater device arranged along an external surface of a heated object, wherein

• the heater device includes:
• a heat generation body that generates heat while being supplied with power;
• a switching device that switches between an electrically conductive state and an electrically non-conductive state of the heat generation body, in accordance with a temperature of the heated object;
• and
• a thermal insulation member positioned between an inner skin member and an outer skin member, and
• the thermal insulation member has formed therewith an accommodation part having a prescribed space, so that the switching device is accommodated in the accommodation part.
