Initial Network Access for a Wireless Communication Device

A first wireless communication device for initial network access for the first wireless communication device to a wireless network, the first wireless communication device comprising processing circuitry, the processing circuitry being configured to cause the first wireless communication device to:

• provide, via a first communication technology, as part of performing initial access of the first wireless communication device to the wireless network, a request to a second wireless communication device for assisted connection initialization of the first wireless communication device to the wireless network;
• obtain connection parameters from the second wireless communication device, wherein the parameters are based on a network configuration;
• and
• establish, using the connection parameters and without further assistance from the second wireless communication device, via a second communication technology, a connection to the wireless network.

A computer program product, comprising a computer program for initial network access for a first wireless communication device to a wireless network, the computer program product comprising computer code which, when run on processing circuitry of the first wireless communication device, causes the first wireless communication device to:

• provide, via a first communication technology, as part of performing initial access of the first wireless communication device to the wireless network, a request to a second wireless communication device for assisted connection initialization of the first wireless communication device to the wireless network;
• obtain connection parameters from the second wireless communication device, wherein the parameters are based on a network configuration;
• and
• establish, using the connection parameters and without further assistance from the second wireless communication device, via a second communication technology, a connection to the wireless network.
