Device and method for multi-cell scheduling in wireless communication system

A method of operating a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting configuration information related to configuration of a serving cell to a user equipment (UE);
• transmitting downlink control information (DCI) to the UE in a search space set;
• and
• transmitting at least one data channel to the UE based on the DCI,
• wherein the base station includes the plurality of serving cells including the first serving cell,
• wherein information related to the first serving cell does not include information related to the search space set, and
• wherein the first serving cell is excluded from a scheduled cell count for a PDCCH monitoring operation of the UE.

A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• and
• at least one processor operably connected to the at least one transceiver,
• wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• receive configuration information related to configuration of a serving cell from a base station (BS),
• perform physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring for receiving downlink control information (DCI) for a plurality of serving cells in a search space set,
• receive the DCI from the base station based on the PDCCH monitoring,
• wherein the plurality of serving cells includes a first serving cell, and information related to the first serving cell does not include information related to the search space set, and
• wherein the first serving cell is excluded from a scheduled cell count for the PDCCH monitoring.
