Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) State Indication for Control and Data Channels

A method comprising:

• transmitting, by a base station and to a wireless device, one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages comprising a parameter indicating a mode of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state indication is based on unified TCI states;
• transmitting, to the wireless device, a first downlink control information (DCI) comprising:
• a frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) field;
• and
• a TCI state indication field;
• determining:
• that a TCI state indicated by the TCI state indication field is used for transmissions of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) based on the parameter;
• and
• that the first DCI does not schedule the PDSCH based on:
• the FDRA field being set to a predefined value;
• and
• the first DCI being transmitted with a configured scheduling radio network temporary identifier (CS-RNTI);
• and
• using the TCI state, transmitting to the wireless device:
• a second DCI via the PDCCH;
• and
• a transport block (TB) via the PDSCH.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a base station, cause the base station to:

• transmit, to a wireless device, one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages comprising a parameter indicating a mode of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state indication is based on unified TCI states;
• transmit, to the wireless device, a first downlink control information (DCI) comprising:
• a frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) field;
• and
• a TCI state indication field;
• determine:
• that a TCI state indicated by the TCI state indication field is used for transmissions of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) based on the parameter;
• and
• that the first DCI does not schedule the PDSCH based on:
• the FDRA field being set to a predefined value;
• and
• the first DCI being transmitted with a configured scheduling radio network temporary identifier (CS-RNTI);
• and
• using the TCI state, transmit to the wireless device:
• a second DCI via the PDCCH;
• and
• a transport block (TB) via the PDSCH.
