Abstract

A communication method and apparatus are provided, applicable to fields such as V2X, Internet of Vehicles, intelligent driving, or intelligent connected vehicles. The communication method includes: determining, by a first terminal apparatus, a busy rate of a first beam in a first beam set, determining first information based on the busy rate, and sending the first information to a second terminal apparatus, where the first beam is used for communication between the first terminal apparatus and the second terminal apparatus. The method determines whether a beam fails based on the busy rate of resources on the beam. For the first terminal apparatus, by configuring a set of resources for BFD, the first terminal apparatus can determine which beams fail on the SL of the first terminal apparatus, thereby saving system resources and improving the resource utilization of the entire system.
