Cross link beam management in wlans

A method performed by a non-access point (AP) multi-link device (MILD), the method comprising:

• forming at least one link with an AP MILD for transmission of first information between the non-AP MLD and the AP MLD, wherein at least one of the at least one links is an anchor link;
• forming a millimeter wave (mmWave) link with the AP MLD for transmission of second information between the non-AP MLD and the AP MLD;
• and
• performing a beam training procedure with the AP MLD for selection of a beam to use for the transmission of the second information on the mmWave link.

An access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) comprising:

• at least one processor including processing circuitry;
• and
• memory storing instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor individually or collectively, cause the AP MLD to:
• form at least one link with a non-AP MLD for transmission of first information between the AP MLD and the non-AP MILD, wherein at least one of the at least one links is an anchor link;
• form a millimeter wave (mmWave) link with the non-AP MLD for transmission of second information between the AP MLD and the non-AP MLD;
• and
• perform a beam training procedure with the non-AP MLD for selection of a beam to use for the transmission of the second information on the mmWave link.
