Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for restricted transfer of User Equipments (UEs) and/or sessions between network slices. In one embodiment, a method performed by a network node comprises detecting that a network slice is congested and sending, to a second network node, congestion information for the network slice, wherein the congestion information comprises information that indicates that the network slice is to be replaced with an alternative network slice due to congestion for (a) an amount of UEs or (b) new UEs registering to the network slice, or both (a) and (b). In this manner, dynamic load balancing between a network slice and an associated alternative network slice in case of congestion in the network slice can be provided.
Claims24
A method performed by a network node, the method comprising:
- detecting that a network slice is congested;
- and
- sending, to a second network node, congestion information for the network slice, wherein the congestion information comprises information that indicates that the network slice is to be replaced with an alternative network slice due to congestion, wherein the replacement is to be applied for (a) an amount of User Equipments (UEs), or (b) new UEs registering to the network slice, or for both (a) and (b).

A network node comprising processing circuitry configured to cause the network node to:
- detect that a network slice is congested;
- and
- send, to a second network node, congestion information for the network slice, wherein the congestion information comprises information that indicates that the network slice is to be replaced with an alternative network slice due to congestion wherein the replacement is to be applied for (a) an amount of User Equipments (UEs), or (b) new UEs registering to the network slice, or for both (a) and (b).

A method performed by an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) in a core network of a cellular communications system, the method comprising:
- determining that a network slice is to be replaced with an alternative network slice due to congestion in the network slice;
- and
- replacing the network slice with the alternative network slice for (a) a determined amount of User Equipments (UEs) or (b) new UEs registering to the network slice, or for both (a) and (b).
