Abstract
A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. According to some embodiments, a method implemented by a core node is provided. The method includes managing a first congestion mechanism that is based on at least one Policy and Charging Control, PCC, rule, and managing the second congestion mechanism that is based on the at least one PCC rule where the managing of the first congestion mechanism is associated with one of enabling and disabling the first congestion mechanism based on an availability of the second congestion mechanism.
Claims26
A method implemented by a core node, the method comprising:
- managing a first congestion mechanism that is based on at least one Policy and Charging Control (PCC) rule;
- managing a second congestion mechanism that is based on the at least one PCC rule;
- and
- the managing of the first congestion mechanism is associated with one of enabling and disabling the first congestion mechanism based on an availability of the second congestion mechanism.
A core node configured to:
- manage a first congestion mechanism that is based on at least one Policy and Charging Control PCC rule;
- manage a second congestion mechanism that is based on the at least one PCC rule;
- and
- the managing of the first congestion mechanism is associated with one of enabling and disabling the first congestion mechanism based on an availability of the second congestion mechanism.

A method implemented by a network node, the method comprising:
- receiving a request to implement one of a first congestion mechanism and a second congestion mechanism, the first congestion mechanism is Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring and the second congestion mechanism is Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) marking for Low Latency, Low Loss and Scalable Throughput (L4S);
- determining whether the requested one of the first congestion mechanism or the second congestion mechanism is supported at the network node;
- and
- if the requested one of the first congestion mechanism or the second congestion mechanism is not supported by the network node, indicating, to a core node, that the request is not supported.
A network node configured to:
- receive a request to implement one of a first congestion mechanism and a second congestion mechanism, the first congestion mechanism is Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring and the second congestion mechanism is Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) marking for Low Latency, Low Loss and Scalable Throughput (L4S);
- determine whether the requested one of the first congestion mechanism or the second congestion mechanism is supported at the network node;
- and
- if the requested one of the first congestion mechanism or the second congestion mechanism is not supported by the network node, indicate, to a core node, that the request is not supported.
