Method and apparatus for high-rate low-delay service

A method performed by a User Equipment (UE) the method comprising:

• triggering a buffer status report in response to a data packet set becoming available, wherein the data packet set comprises at least one data packet belonging to a Logical Channel (LCH) wherein each data packet in the data packet set is a data packet at a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) sublayer;
• or
• canceling the buffer status report in response to at least one candidate condition in a candidate condition set being satisfied, wherein the at least one candidate condition in the candidate condition set comprises at least a first condition and a second condition, wherein the first condition is satisfied when the data packet set is discarded, and wherein the second condition is satisfied when a Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) is sent and the buffer status report is generated before the MAC PDU is assembled, wherein the buffer status report is used to report an amount of buffered data for a Logical Channel Group (LCG) to which the LCH belongs.
