Limited buffer rate matching for multicast

Abstract

This disclosure provides methods, components, devices, and systems for limited buffer rate matching (LBRM) for multicast. A network entity may transmit an indication of a value associated with LBRM for multicast to multiple user equipments (UEs). The indication of the value may indicate one or more LBRM parameters for multicast, such as parameters associated with rate matching a multicast or broadcast message. The UEs may use the indication of the value to coordinate LBRM operations with the network entity. The network entity may transmit a multicast or broadcast message via the multicast channel based on a rate matching procedure in accordance with the indicated value (e.g., the LBRM parameters). The UEs may receive (e.g., successfully receive) the multicast or broadcast message based on a de-rate matching procedure that is also in accordance with the indicated value and, accordingly, corresponds to the rate matching procedure at the network entity.
