Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device, comprising: a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising: detecting that a 911 call had been made on a carrier network by the device, the device having associated therewith a telephone number; responsive to the detecting that the 911 call had been made, sending a token to the carrier network, the token causing the carrier network to disable call blocking to the telephone number. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A private core network device, comprising:
- a processing system of a private core network including a processor;
- and
- memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- detecting dialing of a 911 call by a mobile communication device in communication with the private core network via citizen band radio spectrum (CBRS) or licensed spectrum, the mobile communication device having associated therewith a telephone number;
- facilitating establishment of a communication connection between the mobile communication device and an emergency response center via the private core network;
- and
- responsive to the detecting, updating a Local Call Blocking Instance (LCBI) comprising a database of call blocking rules defined by a private network operator and synchronized with one or more carrier network call blocking databases, wherein the updating comprises adding a rule for disabling call blocking by the private core network of a return call from the emergency response center to the mobile communication device for a period of time determined based on a user profile associated with the mobile communication device and rules stored in the LCBI, and wherein the private core network maintains a countdown timer corresponding to the period of time and restores call blocking after expiration of the countdown timer.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- detecting dialing of a 911 call from a mobile communication device in communication with a private core network, the mobile communication device being associated with a telephone number and being in communication with the private core network via citizen band radio spectrum (CBRS) or licensed spectrum, wherein the private core network includes a Local Call Blocking Instance (LCBI) comprising a database of call blocking rules defined by a private network operator, and wherein the LCBI is synchronized with one or more carrier network call blocking databases;
- facilitating a communication connection of the mobile communication device to an emergency response center via the private core network;
- and
- responsive to the detecting, updating, by the processing system, the LCBI to comprise a rule that disables call blocking by the private core network of a return call from the emergency response center to the mobile communication device, wherein a period of time for disabling call blocking is determined based on a user profile associated with the mobile communication device and the rules stored in the LCBI database, and wherein the private core network maintains a countdown timer corresponding to the period of time and restores call blocking after expiration of the countdown timer.
A method, comprising:
- detecting, by a processing system of a private core network including a processor, dialing of a 911 call from a mobile communication device in communication with the private core network, the mobile communication device being in communication with the private core network via citizen band radio spectrum (CBRS) or licensed spectrum, wherein the private core network includes a Local Call Blocking Instance (LCBI) comprising a database of call blocking rules defined by a private network operator, and wherein the LCBI is synchronized with one or more carrier network call blocking databases;
- facilitating, by the processing system, a communication connection of the mobile communication device to an emergency response center via the private core network;
- and responsive to the detecting, updating, by the processing system, the LCBI to comprise a rule that disables call blocking by the private core network of a return call from the emergency response center to the mobile communication device, wherein a period of time for disabling call blocking is determined based on a user profile associated with the mobile communication device and the rules stored in the LCBI database.
