Technique for handling filtering-related information in a core network domain of a wireless communication network

A method of filtering user plane traffic in a core network domain of a wireless communication network, the method comprising:

• receiving filtering control information indicative of sensual content different from audio and video content that has been deselected for transmission towards a subscriber domain;
• detecting user plane traffic that requires sensual content filtering, the user plane traffic originating in a content provider domain and is directed towards the subscriber domain;
• and
• applying the filtering control information to the detected user plane traffic so as to filter out the deselected sensual content.

An apparatus for retrieving filtering control information from a subscriber database in a core network domain of a wireless communication network, the subscriber database storing subscription-related information, the apparatus being configured to:

• receive a first subscription data request, wherein the first subscription data request includes a first identifier associated with a subscription;
• retrieve from the subscriber database in the core network domain, in response to the first subscription data request, filtering control information for the subscription associated with the first identifier, the filtering control information being indicative of sensual content different from audio and video content that has been deselected for transmission towards a subscriber domain;
• and
• send a first subscription data response including the filtering control information.

An apparatus for filtering user plane traffic in a core network domain of a wireless communication network, the apparatus being configured to:

• receive filtering control information indicative of sensual content different from audio and video content that has been deselected for transmission towards a subscriber domain;
• detect user plane traffic that requires sensual content filtering, the user plane traffic originating in a content provider domain and is directed towards the subscriber domain;
• and
• apply the filtering control information to the detected user plane traffic so as to filter out the deselected sensual content.
