Abstract
An example method of video decoding includes receiving a video bitstream of video data. The method includes parsing a first indicator indicating whether to apply a bit shift operation to a color component of the video data. The method includes parsing a set of one or more bit shift parameters from the video bitstream when the first indicator indicates that the bit shift operation is to be applied. When the first indicator indicates that the bit shift operations is not to be applied, the video bitstream does not include the set of one or more bit shift parameters.
Claims20
A method of video decoding performed at a computing system having memory and one or more processors, the method comprising:
- receiving a video bitstream of video data;
- parsing a first indicator indicating whether to apply a bit shift operation to a color component of the video data;
- and
- when the first indicator indicates that the bit shift operation is to be applied, parsing a set of one or more bit shift parameters from the video bitstream, wherein, when the first indicator indicates that the bit shift operations is not to be applied, the video bitstream does not include the set of one or more bit shift parameters.
A method of video encoding performed at a computing system having memory and one or more processors, the method comprising:
- receiving video data comprising a plurality of color components;
- determining whether a bit shift operation is to be applied to a color component of the plurality of color components;
- when the bit shift operation is to be applied to the color component, generating a first indicator indicating that the bit shift operation is to be applied and generating a set of one or more bit shift parameters for the bit shift operation;
- and
- when the bit shift operations is not to be applied, not generating the first indicator or the set of one or more bit shift parameters.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a video bitstream that is generated by a video encoding method, the video bitstream comprising:
- coded information for a plurality of color components of video data;
- and
- a first indicator indicating whether to apply a bit shift operation to a color component of the video bitstream;
- wherein the video encoding method comprises:
- determining whether the bit shift operation is to be applied to the color component;
- when the bit shift operation is to be applied to the color component, generating the first indicator indicating that the bit shift operation is to be applied and generating a set of one or more bit shift parameters for the bit shift operation, wherein, when the bit shift operations is not to be applied, the first indicator and the set of one or more bit shift parameters are not generated.
