Spatial chat view

A system, comprising:

• a communications interface;
• a non-transitory computer-readable medium;
• and
• one or more processors communicatively coupled to the communications interface and the non-transitory computer-readable medium, the one or more processors configured to execute processor-executable instructions stored in the non-transitory computer-readable medium to:
• connect a plurality of participants to a messaging session;
• and
• upon each participant from the plurality of participants being connected to the messaging session, cause a user interface (UI) for the participant to be displayed, the UI comprising:
• a virtual background selected based on organizational metadata, wherein a portion of the virtual background corresponds to a physical space of an organization associated with the plurality of participants;
• and
• a plurality of spatialized visual representations, wherein:
• each of the plurality of spatialized visual representations is a representation of one of the plurality of participants overlaid on the virtual background,
• each of the plurality of spatialized visual representations is positioned in a spatialized location within the virtual background according to location criteria determined based on the organizational metadata, and
• multiple spatialized visual representations of the plurality of spatialized visual representations are positioned spatially in a grouping within a virtual room according to grouping criteria determined at least based on historical chat messages associated with the plurality of participants, wherein the multiple spatialized visual representations are positioned closer together than other spatialized visual representations based on the historical chat messages to form the grouping;
• and
• cause, adjacent to each of a subset of the plurality of spatialized visual representations, one or more chat bubbles corresponding to chat messages sent by one or more of the plurality of participants represented by the subset of the plurality of spatialized visual representations to be displayed, wherein an older chat message by a participant of the plurality of participants is replaced by a newer chat message from the participant in real time.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising processor-executable instructions configured to cause one or more processors to:

• connect to a plurality of participants to a messaging session;
• and
• upon each participant from the plurality of participants being connected to the messaging session, cause a user interface (UI) for the participant to be displayed, the UI comprising:
• a virtual background selected based on organizational metadata, wherein a portion of the virtual background corresponds to a physical space of an organization associated with the plurality of participants;
• and
• a plurality of spatialized visual representations, wherein:
• each of the plurality of spatialized visual representations is a representation of one of the plurality of participants overlaid on the virtual background,
• each of the plurality of spatialized visual representations is positioned in a spatialized location within the virtual background according to location criteria determined based on the organizational metadata, and
• multiple spatialized visual representations of the plurality of spatialized visual representations are positioned spatially in a grouping within a virtual room according to grouping criteria determined at least based on historical chat messages associated with the plurality of participants, wherein the multiple spatialized visual representations are positioned closer together than other spatialized visual representations based on the historical chat messages to form the grouping;
• and
• cause, adjacent to each of a subset of the plurality of spatialized visual representations, one or more chat bubbles corresponding to chat messages sent by one or more of the plurality of participants represented by the subset of the plurality of spatialized visual representations to be displayed, wherein an older chat message by a participant of the plurality of participants is replaced by a newer chat message from the participant in real time.
