Abstract
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for triggering and performing data channel setup in user equipment. In the context of a method, the method includes obtaining a data object indicative of internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) data channel (DC) configuration data, the IMS DC configuration data comprising information regarding whether a user equipment (UE) is allowed to establish an IMS data channel. The method also includes generating an IMS DC establishment decision based at least in part on the data object. The method also includes performing an action based at least in part on the IMS DC establishment decision.
Claims22
An apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform operations, the operations comprising:
- obtaining a data object indicative of internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) data channel (DC) configuration data, the IMS DC configuration data comprising information regarding whether a user equipment (UE) is allowed to establish an IMS data channel;
- generating an IMS DC establishment decision based at least in part on the data object;
- and
- performing an action based at least in part on the IMS DC establishment decision.

- storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor of a data channel server, cause the data channel server to perform a operations, the operations comprising:
- obtaining a data object indicative of internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) data channel (DC) configuration data, the IMS DC configuration data comprising information regarding whether a user equipment (UE) is allowed to establish an IMS data channel;
- generating an IMS DC establishment decision based at least in part on the data object;
- and
- performing an action based at least in part on the IMS DC establishment decision.
