In various examples, archival message content inspection for encrypted messaging systems and applications are provided. An internal archiving platform may simulate a primary message archiving platform endpoint for receiving deposits of transmitted message data. As an authorized endpoint, the internal archiving platform can decrypt the data, granting access to the original message payload using the same credentials and protocols as a primary message archiving platform. This access allows for troubleshooting of specific formatting issues or changes that are otherwise hidden by encryption. By selectively depositing transmitted message data in the internal archiving platform, the messaging system developers can analyze the content and identify discrepancies or errors. Activation of the internal archiving platform may involve updating the subscriber archiving profile with an inspection indicator, which directs the message archival routing server to route a copy of the transmitted message data to the internal archiving platform for inspection and archiving.
