A first virtual private network (VPN) server maintains a VPN tunnel with an end user device. The first VPN server receives, via the VPN tunnel, a first protocol data unit addressed to an external device and identifies a second VPN server as a current point of egress for the first protocol data unit. The first VPN server receives, via the VPN tunnel, a second protocol data unit addressed to the external device and identifies a third VPN server as the current point of egress for the second protocol data unit, such that the current point of egress changes from the second VPN server to the third VPN server without reconnection of the VPN tunnel. The first VPN server receives a return protocol data unit originating from the external device and transmits the return protocol data unit to the end user device via the VPN tunnel.
A method comprising:
A virtual private network infrastructure (VPNI) system operating a hierarchical-context area network as a VPNI network, the VPNI system comprising:
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, comprising processor-executable instructions for operating, in response to the instructions, a hierarchical-context area network as a virtual private network infrastructure (VPNI) network, wherein operating the hierarchical-context area network includes:
