Multi-NIC load balancing

A network device, comprising:

• a network interface to share traffic flows over a network with at least one remote device;
• and
• processing circuitry to:
• receive bandwidth share assignments for multiple traffic flows, wherein each traffic flow is processed concurrently by a plurality of network devices;
• compare an expected progress with an actual progress for each traffic flow;
• and
• dynamically adjust the respective bandwidth share for each traffic flow based on the comparison, wherein the dynamic adjustment is performed by the processing circuitry to promote processing fairness of the traffic flows among the plurality of network devices.

A system, comprising:

• at least one processing element to process data associated with a traffic flow;
• and
• a plurality of network devices coupled to the at least one processing element, the network devices being to process the traffic flow according to a bandwidth share assigned to the traffic flow such that the traffic flow is processed concurrently by the plurality of network devices according to the bandwidth share;
• wherein each network device of the plurality of network devices includes processing circuitry to:
• compare an expected progress with an actual progress for the traffic flow;
• and
• dynamically adjust the bandwidth share for the traffic flow based on the comparison.

A network device, comprising:

• a network interface to share a traffic flow over a network with at least one remote device;
• and
• processing circuitry to:
• receive a bandwidth share assignment for the traffic flow, wherein the traffic flow is processed concurrently by a plurality of network devices;
• compare an expected progress with an actual progress for the traffic flow;
• and
• dynamically adjust the bandwidth share for the traffic flow based on the comparison.
