Abstract
Aspects of this disclosure relate to frequency offset compensation in a radio receiver. In embodiments of the disclosure, a frequency domain orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing signal can be received, and a phase error offset in individual frequency segments of the frequency domain orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing signal can be compensated for based on estimates of the phase error offset for the individual frequency segments. Related radio receivers and radio systems are disclosed.

A method of offset compensation in a radio receiver, the method comprising:
- applying first offset compensation to a time domain orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing signal using a first offset compensation loop;
- after the applying first offset compensation, generating a frequency domain signal based on the time domain orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing signal;
- and
- applying second offset compensation to the frequency domain signal using a second offset compensation loop.
A radio receiver with offset compensation, the radio receiver comprising:
- a receive signal path configured to receive a time domain orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing signal, the receive signal path including time domain circuitry, frequency domain circuitry, and a Fourier transform engine coupled between the time domain circuitry and the frequency domain circuitry;
- a first compensation loop configured to provide first offset compensation value to the time domain circuitry;
- and
- a second compensation loop configured to provide a second offset compensation value to the frequency domain circuitry.
A radio system with offset compensation, the radio system comprising:
- an antenna configured to receive a digital radio signal;
- and
- a radio receiver including a receive signal path configured to receive the digital radio signal from the antenna, the receive signal path including time domain circuitry, frequency domain circuitry, and a Fourier transform engine coupled between the time domain circuitry and the frequency domain circuitry;
- a first compensation loop configured to provide first offset compensation value to the time domain circuitry;
- and a second compensation loop configured to provide a second offset compensation value to the frequency domain circuitry.
